Elsies River Police Force visited our school 👮🏽👮🏾‍♀️👮🏽‍♂️

On November 12th, the Elsies River Police Force visited our school, bringing with them a day of music, important conversations, and uplifting words of encouragement for our learners.
It kicked off with a lively performance by the Elsies River Police Band Orchestra. The police officers, not just in their roles as law enforcement, but as talented musicians, played a range of songs that energized the entire school. It was a wonderful moment that highlighted the many different ways the police contribute to the community, beyond their usual duties. Following the musical performance, the conversation shifted to a serious and relevant topic: gender-based violence. Officers from the Elsies River Police spoke with our learners about this important issue, discussing the harmful effects of: gender-based violence on individuals and communities, and how young people can help combat it. The message was clear: we all have a role to play in creating a culture of respect, equality, and safety for everyone.
A motivational talk by Pastor Okhuis wrapped up the visit. Pastor Okhuis, who helped arrange the visit, shared words of encouragement and inspiration, reminding our learners to stay focused on their dreams, make positive decisions, and support one another along the way. His message resonated deeply with everyone present, leaving our learners feeling more motivated to pursue their goals and be a force for good in their communities.
We’d like to thank Pastor Okhuis, the Elsies River Police Force, and everyone involved for making this visit possible. Your time, energy, and commitment are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to continuing to work together to build a safer and stronger community for all.
