Celebrating Mandela Day by Honoring Our Elders

Today, in the school hall, we proudly came together to celebrate Mandela Day in collaboration with Patton NPO. This special occasion was marked by a heartfelt event dedicated to treating and honoring our elderly members of the community.

Mandela Day, inspired by the legacy of Nelson Mandela, encourages us to give back to society and uplift those who have paved the way for us. Through this collaboration with Patton NPO, our school took this message to heart by organizing a day of care and appreciation for the elderly, recognizing their wisdom, contributions, and importance in our lives.

The event featured meaningful interactions, warm conversations, and moments of joy, all aimed at making our elders feel valued and cherished. A special thank you goes to Igshaan and Boeta Shadied for keeping our elderly entertained with their beautiful singing, it truly brought smiles to their faces and added a joyful spirit to the day. It was a wonderful reminder of the spirit of Ubuntu , “I am because we are”, which Mandela so deeply embodied.

We are grateful to Patton NPO for partnering with us in this initiative and to everyone who participated in making this Mandela Day celebration memorable and impactful. Above all, we give thanks to the Almighty for blessing us with the opportunity to serve and honor our elders in this special way.
