Empowering Parents:
Ongoing Workshop Series for Caregivers of Young Children

Our school is currently hosting a series of impactful parental workshops designed specifically for parents and caregivers of children aged 0-5 years. This initiative, which began on October 16th, is a collaborative effort between the Department of Basic Education, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the National Early Childhood Development Alliance, and the Grassroots Educare Trust Initiative.

Workshop Details
The workshops are held every Wednesday for five weeks, running from 13h30 to 16h30 in the school hall. Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate of attendance, recognizing their commitment to enhancing their skills in early childhood development.

Meet the Presenter
The program is led by Sheikh Kenny, a qualified mentor and coach in early childhood development. He is the developer of an integrated site learning program and serves as the Principal of Daarul Qur’aan Institute Pre-Primary, Primary, and High School in Heideveld. Sheikh Kenny’s extensive experience provides valuable insights into nurturing and supporting young children.

Healthy Family Relationships
Health and Nutrition
Development of Learning through Play and Creativity
Understanding Physical, Emotional, Language, and Intellectual Development
Child Safety and Protection
Positive Discipline and Behavior Management
Dealing with Loss and Trauma

These topics aim to equip parents and caregivers with practical tools and knowledge to foster a supportive and nurturing environment for their children.
