Growsmart is a corporate social responsibility initiative by Growthpoint Properties and is supported by the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, and Limpopo Education Departments.
Growsmart is an educational programme that hosts inter-school competitions in Literacy, Story Writing & Poetry, Mathematics and Science for learners in Grades 4, 5, and 6.
Five learners from Grades 4, 5, and 6 who will represent their school in the online competition.
Description
In the competition, the teams will be given words to spell, define, and use in a sentence in a multiple-choice format.
Three learners from Grades 4, 5, and 6 who will represent their school within the Western Cape
Description
Consist of writing poems, story writing
story-books or poetry anthologies and book reviews
learners will develop the following skills
Pre-writing/planning , Drafting , Revising, editing, proofreading and presenting
Only open to learners in Grade 6.
Each participating school must select their three learners who will form the school team.
Description
Debating teaches learners how to communicate with people by being able to present better, improves fluidity in communication with others, and trains a person to better understand/search for context.
It builds confidence, structure in speech, and creates an inquisitive nature and makes you question the world more.

Mathematics problems they solve correctly. Part of the competition will be timed to see how many problems they solve correctly in, for example, one minute.
Open only to Grade 6 learners.

Description
The focus of the Entrepreneurship competition is to engage with the pillars of the Entrepreneurship Education Ecosystem and forms part of the CAPS Curriculum as part of Economic and Management Sciences (EMS). Learners form businesses and go through the entire process of starting up a business, developing products or services, and learning about all aspects of entrepreneurship, as well as financial literacy and life skills.
